Officially the Project is sponsored by the Baptist Women of Adaville Baptist Church. However, production of the dolls is a result of a broad cooperative effort.

Each doll is handmade and comes with its own personalized name and information card. This card assures children there is someone who loves them very, very much... the words "Jesus Loves You" are printed across the heart of each doll.

The dolls are unique in that they have no hair. Children can identify completely with this new friend, as many of them also lose their own hair.

Samantha dolls are given free of charge to hospitals to distribute to children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

A gift of $20 covers the cost of the materials and clothing to make one doll. The donor has the privilege of naming his/her doll either in memory of, or honor of, someone special. Many people donate the cost of the dolls to honor coworkers, family members, or friends on birthdays and holidays.

Hospitals participate by asking for and distributing the dolls. Individuals participate by contributing the cost of one or more dolls.

Our name was chosen by the Baptist Women in memory of Samantha, the grandchild of Rev. and Mrs. James Daves. It is their prayer that the memory of Samantha will continue to live on in the lives of children who are going through a difficult illness.
